EMILY STEWART
I was always the child to create the largest messes. At sleepover parties, I would suggest we rearrange all of the furniture. I asked for sewing lessons for Christmas and art lessons for birthdays. I played my bassoon far too loud in my bedroom. Most of my childhood memories were centered around my love of art, music and writing; all of the wonderful, creative things that keep our world personal and connected.

As I grew up, I fell into the belief traditional academics would be my only path to success. I studied Accountancy and worked in corporate America after college. During covid, I worked remotely and battled depression. I began painting again. I turned my social media into a fabulous feed of artists, designers, landscapes and architects alike. I became obsessed and inspired. I read about their backgrounds, styles and careers. I didn't know what to do, but I did know I wasn't going to keep sitting in my cubicle. I resigned, moved across the state and started over.

Over the last five years, I have pursued my passions relentlessly. I studied at the New York School of Interior Design and worked as an Interior Designer. While my path has been anything but traditional, it has been uniquely my own.

I am fascinated by color. I enjoy seeing the way art moves people and influences their lives. I want to encourage others to live more imaginatively and inspire them to pursue their passion. My artwork is a mix of styles. I focus on the use of color, texture and experiment with different mediums and applications. I draw inspiration from many things but the first to mind are nature, textiles and travel.
I will typically be found creating something, thrifting furniture or renovating our 1940's Craftsman with my husband, Ryan.

Thank you for being part of my story.
